Social Anxiety Solution: Being a way you dislike

Are there any perfect human beings? Society surely hasn’t found any. Because of this, there is a chance you may do things that, after the fact, you dislike. If you study mastery, you will find that numerous masters go through a phase of producing work they dislike. If masters have to go through a phase of doing things they dislike, then it’s likely that being or doing things we dislike is something all people must go through.

Overcoming the trigger

To overcome this trigger–getting anxious when you’re a way you dislike–you can no longer view being ways you dislike as a reason to feel bad even though you probably hate this reality with a passion.

You may unknowingly think you should feel bad to show yourself and perhaps others that you dislike (maybe even hate) what you did. You may also think you should feel bad–unconsciously–as a way to motivate yourself to correct things in the future. You may be overlooking the fact that it’s possible to change or want to change without feeling bad about something. We think you can prove this to yourself if you reflect on your life history.

It may take time for you to make changes since you have limited time or resources, but if natural motivation is there, you’ll likely make changes in the future. If you aren’t motivated to do something, then perhaps you don’t really care or want to make the change. This doesn’t mean you won’t be motivated in the future, but that motivation isn’t there now.

When this happens, you may sometimes think there’s something wrong with that, but why? You may lack motivation for multiple reasons that are unique to you. For example, you may have other higher priorities at the time or, because of your uniqueness, have no genuine interest in what you or others think you should be motivated to do. The uniqueness point is important because people sometimes forget that all human beings are unique (based on DNA). If everyone is unique, it’s possible and perhaps likely that, at times, people will have unique interests that others don’t understand or have.

Feeling bad when you lack the motivation to do something

You may feel bad because others think you should be motivated. Some people may also think that if you aren’t motivated, you should feel bad. Ultimately these are opinions from other human beings–who are imperfect and aren’t aways right–like yourself. As a unique human being you may have unique goals which are driving your unique motivations. When you see this reality, you may be faced with a choice. To choose inner peace when outside opinions think or say you shouldn’t have inner peace or view the reality you see plus the outside opinions as a reason to feel bad.
