Social Anxiety Solution: Others Seeing You Anxious

You may see this as downright unacceptable, but you likely have reasons why you see it as unacceptable. For example, you may think that others will view you as weak or unable to do certain things. People may label you all sorts of things, but if you want to overcome this trigger and have inner peace, you can’t view those labels as reasons to be anxious. There may be times when you think these labels could hurt your ability to get what you want, but we encourage you to really analyze if that’s true. If it is true, why? Is what you’re trying to get solely dependent upon whether you get anxious or not? If it does, are you 100% sure you actually want what you say or think you want? If your goal allows no room for imperfection and can only be obtained without ever being anxious, it might not be the right fit for you right now.

You may have to consider changing your environment

In some cases, you might not be in the right environment to get what you want. If you find that you aren’t in the right environment, we encourage you to take steps to address that while neutrally facing the fact that you aren’t currently getting what you want because you get anxious at times.

We sometimes (unknowingly) take the inability to get what we want as a reason to be anxious because we dislike that reality and want to change it. You may unconsciously think that not being able to get what you want means something is wrong with you. You may overlook that if you really want what you say you want, the natural motivation to get it without having to feel bad will be there. If natural motivation isn’t there, then it’s possible you don’t really want what you say you want. We put forward to you that that’s ok. Having different motivations and desires is a reflection of your uniqueness. That said, your desires and goals can change over time, so although you’re not motivated to do something now, you may be motivated to do it in the future.

To be anxious is to be human

Also, is it possible for someone to have zero anxiety? Maybe, but we do know that no one is perfect, so you experiencing anxiety is an example of human imperfection. If you want to be less anxious overall, then we suggest you ensure you understand what causes anxiety (in the recommended reads section) and commit to eliminating anxiety triggers you know you have and may experience in the future. Resources for eliminating an anxiety trigger are in the recommended reads section.
